New Posters Preview – Part 2!
A new Writers' Room newsletter from BEING GORDY, A Situation Comedy
Happy Sunday, Friends!
Next weekend we end daylight saving. And the weekend after that … it’s time to move passed Winter and enjoy a good comic con! In this case, it’s my “home” show — NorthEast Comic Con is Boxborough, Massachusetts. NECC is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, make some new friends, and find some really great pop culture treasure. So come on out and have some fun!
In my last post, I previewed all of the new 11x17 posters I am debuting at the show. With this post, here is a look at all of the 8.5 x 11 posters.
One of my favorite things that came out of doing the pilot issue of BEING GORDY, A Situation Comedy was the social media ad campaign I created and then turned into a series of mini-posters. I just began the new campaign for issue #2 a few weeks ago. It's an evolution of what I did with the pilot, all inspired by and paying homage to an old TV Guide print ad from the 1070's.
However, the poster series from this new campaign has printed early, and I am debuting them in two weekends at NorthEast Comic Con, March 13-15 in Boxborough, MA. There are seven 8.5x11 prints to choose from. Have a look!
I am also offering the revised BEING GORDY Studios logo, and it’s offshoot “Series” logo in this size …
In the pilot issue of BEING GORDY, I introduced that Gordy is an independent comic book cartoonist, and we quickly see a handful of his creations. Those characters started with a drawing I did for my buddy Matt King’s Kickstarter for his graphic novels — Tales To Enlighten, Vol. 1 and 2. I’ve always had a fondness for that piece, as it’s where I created and the first time I drew any of those characters. So I turned it to a print. Have a look …
And finally, I turned a few old favorites I did over the years into prints as well. I forgot how much I enjoyed doing these “one and done” ideas, and I plan to do more. You can never have enough fun framable art …
All are printed on a white 80lb. matte stock, and will be signed and personalized upon request. For anyone who cannot make the convention but wants a poster, just reach out. However, if you want the live experience, I’ll see you in two weeks at NorthEast Comic Con!
So see you there and … “Stay Tuned!”
